Relatively simple question:

Where can I find the code that will enable me to know who is logged in on our company's intranet website and say "Hi, Digatle". We use Active Directory and write in PHP. Don't mind if it is in ASP either (I know wrong forum for that piece).

use Sessions...

Known is handfull, Unknown is worldfull

Use sessions? What does that mean?

Assuming all users on windows, then you can access the user name with the ASP property of LOGON_USER in the servervariables will allow you to see who logged onto the client machine

Any one have a techie job in Toronto, I need to work...being laid off sucks!

That won't work on Apache.

How can you pull ASP properties from PHP?

Um, you can't. But you did indicate in the first note that ASP was a possbility. You also didn't indicate that you were using Apache.

One option is to use the IP of the client machine and map that IP to a database table or other storage mechanism to get the user. Though the limitation is that if the user is using another machine you won't give the right name...

A login type page may be the best bet here
