Hello,
I have a new windows 2003 server and I just set up AD/DNS.
My environment:
My AD Domain name is similar to: smithcorp.com
AD DC Netbios name: smith2k3 192.0.0.10
All PC's (w2kpro) have 1 dns server entry: 192.0.0.10
The DC has forwarders setup for the internet dns servers.
My Problem:
On our LAN, resolves to
192.0.0.10...the 2003 server.
This creates problems for viewing our "real" smithcorp.com website from the LAN, beause the "real" smithcorp.com website is a linux box with an internal and public IP, and it's DNS is hosted by our ISP.
I can get to index.html using the internal IP on the webserver: but the site is full of links to which break when you click on them.
I'm guessing my NT Domain name should have been different if it wasn't hosting my website? Does W2003 allow for it's website to be on a different box?
I hope my explanation was understandable. Many thanks for any thoughts you can offer.
