Hello,

I built a brand new server with windows 2000, I have exchange 2000 in there also. I am getting this message
Active Directory Connector snap-in failed to initialize
when I try to open the active directory connector manegament.
The whole message says:

Active Directory Connector snap-in failed to initialize. The default ADC Policy object could not be located in the Active Directory Please ensure that the object has not been deleted and the sufficient permissions have been granted to your accoun.

I am loged on as Administrator.

Any ideas?

Edgarv;

There's a lot of things that can result in this error. Couple o' questions:

Is the E2K server a DC? Do you have any other W2K servers on the domain with AD running? Do you have the [P]DC as the GC and master for the domain?

E2K isn't recommended for installation on a DC. It works best to have E2K on a member server and use the ADConnector talk to the [P]DC.

Try this .....
Click start / programs / right click on the Active Directory Connector snap-in / click on run as and login...

It could be that you need to log on as an enterprise administrator...

First thing I would do is check your event logs for error messages, and then get back to us. Good luck.
