Hi, I have just installed Win2K Server, and it was installed as a workgroup, I have a fixed IP assigned from my ISP, should windows been installed as a DNS server? What are the advantages?
Also, I did not installed Active Directory, if I install it, what can I do with it?

Thank you in advance.

It sounds to me that this is a home PC not on a business network. If this is true then don't install DNS or active directory. It is very easy to configure DNS incorrectly. If this is a business server then still don't install either DNS or active directory untill you read something about both and get a good understanding or you could cause big problems on your network.
