I recently upgraded an XP Home to Xp pro on a Dell PC. Durring the install it asked if I wanted to activate the os with Microsoft or do it later. I choose to do it later. Upon restart it won't allow me to log in until I activate it, however it won't let me get to the internet to activate it. It stays on the Welcome page and I have no other options. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Have you contacted Microsoft to Activate it via the Phone?

You may have some access via Safe Mode to the Activation screen, look in the Start Menu or System Tools. This will allow you to read the instructions at least. You may also have some firewalling or security products that are blocking pop-ups or internet access that you might be able to temporally disable via Safe Mode?

In Normal Mode at the Welcome Screen try using Ctrt+Alt+Del (twice clicked) to remove the Welcome Screen and show the Classic Login box, and see if there are any other message box windows hiding under the Welcome Screen.
