Hello,
I am trying to configure an analog extension using an anlog module on an Optiset E Advance phone, Siemens Hicom 300 switch. I have looked at all of the obvious (to me) power, digital phone/ extension set up and the analog extension setup. I have compared this to an extension I set up some time ago that works. The analog extension will just not activate. I am not receiving an error. I appreciate your help.

One thing I know for sure with the optiset phones and those analog adapters is that you MUST use the funky phone cords that come with the optisets and adapters. You can usually tell them because the RJ11 plugs have a slight greenish tint to them. You can't use plain old silver satin line cords for the analog adapter and make it work (you can with just the phone though). I don't remember why - I think it was because the ones Siemens supplies with the phone and adapter are crossover cables or something, but I do know there is a difference. I went and pulled 3 analog adapters back out of my junk box after I found out about that. Both cords - the wall to the power supply, and the power supply tot he phone have to be the right cables.

Just out of my own curiosity, I use the optisets on the Hicom 150 and there is a Master port section and a Slave port section. How do you program the analog phone for the slave side of the port on the Hicom 300? I have a few of those too. I'm assuming each B-Channel has it's own PEN, but I'm wondering how they address it... 1-5-61-7-1 or -2 ?

Thank you for the advice and quick response. For the longest time all that I used were the Siemens cords with the green tint, so this hasn't been an issue before.

The Hicom 300 works the same way. I am setting up the extensions with LCWIN. The switch will assign the Digital master a -1 Pen and the Slave the -2. Thanks again.
