Hello,

I have a Partner ACS R1 that I picked up cheap, power supply was burnt, replaced and since replacement, it won't boot, just sits there clicking away. I have powered the ACS directly, not in a carrier.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help and ideas,

Jeff

While the power supply may have been fried, I'm guessing that components on the main board were damaged as well.

Given the age of the R1 processor, further repairs might not be worth the cost. I'd write it off and purchase a brand spanking new R6 processor. [smile]

Dexman,

Thanks for the reply.

I don't like tossing equipment, even old stuff. Had planned to upgrade the ACS to R6 after I had it working.

Time to listen to more knowledgeable minds and say goodbye to this ACS. Trash can it will be.

Are the older ACS, such as this physically different than a new ACS R6? Were there reliability issues which were addressed in the newer proccessors?

Thanks again,

Jeff

I know that, at some point, the design of the power supply board was modified, but I'm not sure which revision introduced it.

I am not aware of any other physical changes between R1 and R6, but if there were any, someone will chime in and let us know. [smile]

if the power supply was modified are you sure you have the correct power supply for the R1 ?
