We had to put in a r. 7 509 in a system with partner mail ( 2 ports) ever since there is echo when any extension on the 509 dials dials voicemail. This doesn't happen to any extensions on the 308 where the voicemail ports are plugged into. Any suggestions, thank you

Hi CMH4,
Cool, never have seen that. Try to reset the processor and see if that fixes it. It doesn't seem to make sense unless you get an echo from an SLP extension on the 308 calling, say, ext 10.

Thanks for the reply . I called tech support and they said a release 7 would not work with a partner mail. I needs to be partner messaging card instead. does that sound right?

There is an incompatability issue between 308 expansion cards and Partner Mail, although there is a patch available that Avaya can install in the Partner Mail as long as you have the Remote Maintaince Device (modem) connected.

The incompatability has to do with the Partner Mail falsely detecting incoming calls, going off hook (drawing dial tone), and obviously not getting any type of mode codes, transferring the off hook to ext. 10

Doesn't sound like his problem though. Sounds like yet another R7.0 bug. Bzzzzz.

Okay, if they haven't got some of the Magix team, they hired some ex of Microsoft.
