Hello - I have created a multitab form that has quite a bit of info to key in. Is there a way to let the person know the entry is a duplicate before they get to the very end ? It would be great if as soon as the EmployeeID is entered in the user would know it was a duplicate.

Thanks in advance

Taylor

You can use the Dlookup function tied to the OnExit or AfterUpdate event on the EmployeeID field.

If you have primary key(s) set up, you could just try to save the record on the 'afterupdate' event of the primary key(s). If there is a duplicate value in the pk, it won't let you save.
