Can anyone tell me what kind of video card to buy for an Acer AP4300? It will not send a picture to the monitor and the card is welded in. Someone told me to just buy a video card but they did not know which one.
Thanks
It has three slots for stuff like this. One has a modem, one has a network card and one is empty. I cannot get to the computer but I think they are black. I appreciate your help!
If the slots are black, they would be ISA slots. Are they all black? They don't sell ISA video cards anymore. Contact computer friends, and computer repair shops. They would probably give you one. Are you sure it's the video card? Have you tried a different monitor? You may be fighting a lost cause!
Just did a quick Google, looks like this is a Celeron 533? or there abouts.
At around this era ISA slots were usually still fitted but all boards had predominantly PCI slots, usually white!
If you are sure that yours has not got the single brown "dedicated AGP" slot (nearly always the closest slot to the cpu)if you havn't got this slot then you need a PCI graphics card (not to be confused with the very new PCI express)
You can pick these up very cheaply second hand from somewhere like Ebay.
Something like on old ATI Rage Pro or Nvidia Vanta etc

Thanks to all! The slots are white! I did try it with my working monitor but it still was a no go. The graphics card seems to be the answer. Thank you again..
