Hi folks,

When programming a new ACD, How do I get rid of the "The person at extension xxxx is on the phone" before the external greeting, and just play the greeting?

This sounds like a meridian mail prompt.

if this about mail and not acd then get the user to either record their name or a breif bit of silence will do the trick.

if this about acd then please explain a bit more.

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

ok, for example when someone calls 1086, I want to forward automatically to a voicemail, but I dont want the lovely "The person at extension blah...." message to play first I just want "You have reached such and such, we will call you back later". I looked at one that is already setup and it looks to me to be setup as a ACDN. hope that makes sense.
I can do it symposium with give ivr but I dont want to do that.

That's down to the users of the voicemail.......

Get them to record their internal and external greetings in mail.

Yes you are correct in that the mail number is set up as a acd, but the greeting is played by the users mailbox

in the class of service, either PERSONAL for just one mail box or an entire class, change "Callers Notified of Busy Line: No Yes" to no. that greeting will say ext xxxx or bob smith is one the phone for a busy line.. it's not the acd of the switch but the class. even with all greeting recorded, the mail follows that prompt
