Hi

We have installed accpac accounting software v4.1 in 1 of my customer running win2k with sp4, terminal server, P3 800 xeon processor, 2GB RAM. However, the terminal server CPU resource shoot up to 100% when they run one of the software (GL) module.

From the task manager, the CPU utilization of that file (belong to that module) alone is using ave 94% of the whole server resource (whole server is using 100% CPU resource). Thus, the whole terminal server begin to hangs and runs very slowly. The rest of the logon rdp sessions also hangs and the terminal server refuse to accept new login rdp session.

The following shows the related msg appeared at the event log:

At the system log:
event id: 7031
The terminal service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 100 milliseconds: Restart the service.

At the application log:
event id: 1015
The timeout waiting for the performance data collection function "PerfOS" in the "C:\WINNT\system32\perfos.dll" Library to finish has expired. There may be a problem with this extensible counter or the service it is collecting data from or the system may have been very busy when this call was attempted.

Thks for the help.

You have mentioned RDP several times, is there no Citrix installed? Also is accpac terminal services aware. Some software requires certain access to systems that don't lay nice with Terminal services.
