Accidental Database Deletion

I accidentally deleted my *.mdb database, and then emptied my Recovery Bin. I was able to retrieve the file off my hard drive through a 3rd party file recovery utility, but it won't open without crashing Access and prompting me to send an error report to Microsoft. I try to 'Compact and Repair' the database, and get the same error. I noticed every time I try to open the database, Access writes a file called: 'database name'.ldb. In that file it has my computer name and 'Admin.' Does anybody have any ideas???

The LDB file is always created by Access when opening a database.

Which version of Access are you running? There is a Jet Compact and Repair utility that may help. It can sometimes fix problems that the Access repair cannot. Check one of the following links.

Another thought is to try and import everything into a new Access Database. Create the new Database and on the Menu bar go to File...Get External Data..Import. Select the problem db and then try importing all the objects.
