Hi

We have a user who has now left the company, but we want to leave he's email address active for a little while.

What is the best way to assign another user the permission to open/view and totally manage this mailbox?

Do I need to assign delegate access or is this a NT permissions issue?

Thanks

No need to assign delegeation , you need to assign permission in the exchange , in the mail box properties you will find permission tab.

Thanks - Simple when you know how!

You could forward all his/her mail to another mailbox using the 'delivery options' tab, deleted their e-mail address(es) using the 'e-mail addresses' tab and reassign it to another user or using the 'permissions' tab add a second user, if you can't see this tab activate it by clicking any mailbox, tools>options>permissions>tick the 'view permissions page for all objects' tick box
