Accessing History list with IE 6.0

Internet explorer 6.0 seems to have stopped any access to the history list.
The functions windows.history.back and windows.history.forward, which work well with IE5,
do not work with IE6.
Now how can we access the history list.Suggest some methods for the same.

As a sidenote, this post might belong better in the javascript forum, html/css forum, vbscript forum, or web designers forum as there is no way to access the client's history from the server where ASP resides.
