Accessing data via OLE DB (ADO)

I'm trying to use Crystal Reports to access data on a SQL Server via a OLE DB (ADO) connection. When I try to access the database, I get a violation.

has anyone tried doing this same connection and if so how did you get it to work?

Perhaps you should post the details of "a violation"...
