Hi!

When should I chose to use Access database and when should I use MySQL? What is the differense between them?

I'm planning to run a "user databas" on my homepage. The database must be able to handle at least 2000 members. Should I use Access or MySQL or some other format?

Access and MySQL are two different technologies. MySQL is a client/server database while Access is a file server. MySQL is much more difficult to use then access. All tables and queries must be created using command lines (unless you find a interface tool for MySQL - mysql admin). MySQL interfaced very very well with PHP. Therefore, the first thing you should do is determine if your host provider supports PHP and MySQL....If not, then you gotta go with Access. You could use any server side language to interface with access. Your situation seems very simple...2000 records is a piece of cake for Access. You only use client/server databases when you really need to.
