Access to mailbox while hidden from GAL 1

Hello everyone,
I was wonedring if there is a way to access mailbox after it has been hidden from gal?
Essentially having employee1 access emplyee2 mailbox due to a fact that employee2 is terminated and needs to be removed from GAL while his emails need to be accessible for review.
Seems like a catch 22 but perhaps there is a workarround?
....trying to avoid dealing with 'floating' PSTs.

Unhide it from the exchange advanced tab under properties of the users name in ADUC. Set up a windows profile and create the mailbox of that user and then hide it again. Then you can log into that account and view the email.

so you are saying to ones connected to mxb I can hide it again from GAL while still have access to it? hm...I could sware it threw out old 'no access/cant display folders'...will give it another try.
