I plan to create an Access 2000 database to use over a network. The forms will be simple and the datapoints collected equally simple, but what I need to do is prevent the end user from having the ability to either access or edit the structure of the database, or edit the raw data in the tables.

In my particular network the security tools Access has built in do not function. Can someone tell me a good technique for building user level access into Access? _____________

Have a look on my website.
There is an example file called password.zip which shows you one way of putting a password on the db. There is also a file called lock&unlock which will make it impossible for the users to bypass the startup macros with the shift key.
Finally you should turn your mdb into an mde file, which compiles the code and makes it so that you cannot change the design of the forms & reports etc.
Using these 3 things together should give you a reasonably secure db that stops the casual users. It won't hold much protection against the determined hacker though.
