Hi all,

I need an access report to print the data from a table from left to right rather than straight down. I want the data to be printed across six times, then move down to the next line then six across and so on. Does anyone have any ideas???

If you look in the Page Setup... menu commane, you will find 3 tabs..

Margins - Show's what the margins for this report are

Page - Portrait/Landscape and what size of the paper

Columns - How many columns for this report..

You will need the third tab, and you will have to play with it to get things right....

Be away.. Report/Page Header/Footers are still across the entire page, not just the column, so if you want column headers for each column in the Page Header, you will need to have a set for each column...

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, I have pictures and other things in the report. I want just the data fields to be printed across not everything. I have two data fields that I want to go 8 across then continue down the page. Any other suggestions?

Ok.. so... You want to have certain pictures and other items to be stationary in the detail of the report, but have the data in 8 columns across...

I don't think this can be done. Unless there is some heavy VBA coding put into it (Or I'm missing something.....)

If anyone knows a way to do this, let us know...

i'm confused, sorry.
please explain better, maybe try to lay this out here some how, or explain with real data we'd be familiar with.

thanks--g

Here is what it looks like now:

<PICTURE> Data <PICTURE>
Data

What I want it to look like is:

<PICTURE> Data1 Data2 Data3 Data4 <PICTURE>
Data1a Data2a Data3a Data4a

The data comes from the same table. With the first row being store number and the second row being quantity. If I go into the Page setup and make the columns 4 across it prints the picture as well as the data across 4 times. I want the picture to stay stationary and the data to print across 4 times. I don't know if it can be done, but I figured this is the best place to find out.

Data1, Data2, Data3, and Data4 come from the same field in a table. 1 being the first record, 2 the second, and 3 the third and so on.

Data1a, Data2a, Data3a, and Data4a come from the next field in the table. 1a being the first record 2 the second and so on.

Hopefully this clarifies my question. Any suggestions are welcome. THANKS VERY MUCH

The only way I can think of doing this is with heavy VBA coding... I've never tried to do something like this.

greg--if you want to zip your db and send it to me i can take a look for you. sounds like your data might not be normalized/not designed properly? not sure. anyhow, send it along if you want. Is it in Acc97?
