I am trying to get a count of people with different codes.
I have their social security numbers and their activity code and their points. Sometime they are duplicated in which the ss# ARE REPEATED with different points.
How can I count the ss# ONCE with the highest number of points. Thanks in advance and hopefully it is clear.
example
ss act code points
555-55-5555 02 33
555-55-5555 02 17
555-55-5555 02 1
111-11-1111 04 17
111-11-1111 04 3

This should give you what you need

Select ss, max(points) from table1
group by ss

Obviously replace table1 with the name of your table

I will try this first thing in the morning. Sounds perfect. Thanks for the quick response.
