Is there any way to embed comments / documentation in an Access Query similar to MS SQL Stored Procedures?

Tried // and -- looked at the jetsql40.chm and did a quick search on the web and in the forum faq, and nothing.

Suspect it does not have that capability. But thought I would ask here.

Thanks in advance.

Can't do it. I have kept a table of objects in some applications where I enter documentation information. You can write code to "refresh" the available properties such as the object names and the SQL property of the query.

nope, no such luck

but i keep all my access query sql outside of access anyway

i hate how access flows the sql after you save it

so i have a library of sql source code, with the comments around the query itself -- introductory comments about purpose, and where the query is in the job flow (unless i've built a macro to run all the queries in order), and comments after the query to explain any nuances...

and if the query needs to be changed or modified, i do it in a competent text editor (like ultraedit), and then copy/paste the raw sql into the SQL View window when i'm ready to run it

Thanks for the confirmation.

And I guess will adopt r937's approach.

Have a great weekend.
