Hi all,

Have a problem access my OWA from the internet. From my Lan I can get to it with no problem. I am running W2K server with exchange 2000 and IIS. I can get to my website on my server from the internet. What and who's rights need to be enabled? Thanks all

Is it the same IP address?
Did you change the OWA port (80) ?
Firewall?
What error do you get?
.... If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, excpect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

Yes the IP for my server is the same for the exchange. Did not change the port for OWA, it is default. No firewalls. I get the 401 error unauthorized. Seems like a rights issue. Thanks

Check these to compare

If it is still not in there, please post the EXACT and COMPLETE error message. If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, excpect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

This is the actual message I get when I try to log in for an external site. Internally I can get OWA.

HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized

Then it looks like something is blocked from the outside.
Who gives you the error, the Exchange server, a proxy somewhere, the ISP? It should be on the bottom of the errorpage. If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, excpect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

Figured out its my proxy server at work!!! I can get to it from other internet accesses. Thanks

You're welcome If 'something' 'somewhere' gives 'some' error, excpect random guesses or no replies at all. Please specify details.

Wait a minute - you are accessing OWA, installed on your Exchange server, attached to the internet, and with no firewall (nor NAT I assume)?

Unless I'm missing something here I would be very worried about security if I were you.
