Access Lookup Column 1

I am trying to add a lookup column to a table and I keep getting the error message that "field can only be defined once."

Any help? The column should lookup information from table in the db

OK, are you creating a field using the lookup wizard? If so, at what step are you getting the error?

in this situation, "LookUp" refers to a PROPERTY of the Field, similar to the Number / Type. It is a tab on the properties which you see at the bottom of the screen in the table design view.

Yes, I am using the wizard and it is at the final step when it asks me "What label would you like for your lookup column"

No matter what name I choose it gives me the error message: "Can't define field more than once"

I just found this on the MS KnowledgeBase:

It is KB article 175217. Does this help at all? It's not exactly the same error message, but it is similar.
