Hi, I have a strange problem with Microsoft Access 2000.
I have a database with some tables linked via ODBC to a MySQL server (same machine). All is nice, the tables are opened and I can filter and order 10000 records in no time, but navigating the table, going to the last record, or going to a new record is veeeery slow. If I let access handle the data one time so slowly, the next movement in the table is in real time. It looks like for some strange reason it does not use index information, but only for navigating the table, for filtering or ordering it's all ok. The nicest thing is that all worked well before I had to reinstall Windows XP. After that i tried to install/uninstall office, update mdac install/uninstall varius MyODBC versions, but no way.
And if I access the same data from another pc the remote pc have not the same problem, so it's not a server fault. Really I dont know how to handle this situation, other than reinstalling windows again.
Can someone help me? I looked for an answer on the web but find only someone with a similar problem. No solution.
Thank you very much
Max
