I have access 2000 database working in a shared enviroment. To hold the data it creates an .idb file of the database. Only problem is once everyone shuts down the database the DB doesn't completely update the data and the .idb file remains. If I try to shut down the host computer I tells me that one or more people are connected to my computer and then one or more files are open and shutting them down will result in data loss. I know for sure that everyone is closed out of the DB.
Is this a glitch in access and is there a fix for it? Is there someting I need to change in the setting?
This also affects me going in exclusively to update the DB. We have a password to access the DB. I don't know if that is necessary but I thought I would throw that in.
