Access database - the work group information file is missing

I have created a form that is dumping some data into an access database. I want to password protect the access database; however when i do password protect the database, i get the error message:

Cannot start your application. The workgroup information file is missing or opened exclusively by another user.

i have added the username=admin and the password to the cfquery. If i unprotect the database it works.

any help would be very appreciated.

Is this an ODBC connection? If so, the ODBC driver you are using is probably not passing on the user/password data.

ODBC drivers are usually a subset of the host databases' SQL implementation.
