Access Database - Loosing Links?

Hi,

One of our users is having trouble with a database. It is unstable at the moment, and they think that the problem is because the database keeps loosing the links between the tables in the database. Is there anyway of stopping this from happening...I don't know a great deal on Access so any help or suggestions would be great.

Win2k SP4, Office 2000 SP3, multi user database.

Poss try compact and repair option?
