My machine has crashed while closing down an access database and now I cant open it. The error is "the microsoft jet engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time" I have looked for the .ldb file to delete it but it doesn't exist on the machine where the database is stored or on my machine that had it open. Also nobody else has access to the database so it cant be as simple as somebody else has got it open.

Any ideas?

If you can't delete it, copy the mdb, delete the original mdb (this removes the ldb) and then rename your copied version.
