access database has full permissions but!

users accesing an access database on a w2000 server share cannot write to it as it continually sais its "read only"

i have even set "everyone" "full control" to both the databse and the share but still doesnt work..

the same database works fine when I put it on a workstation, but on the server it continually comes up as read only when opened...

i assume its a w2000 security issue

any ideas?
