We have a short term requirement (e.g. next 6 months) to periodically move some data held in an Access database into an Oracle database.

Although other solutions may well be available (e.g. ODBC links, etc.), my intention was to generate the appropriate SQL code (to embrace the required data) necessary to create the table directly into Oracle.

Has anyone used this technique (or will I be forced to look at something like DTS to achieve the transfer) ?

"my intention was to generate the appropriate SQL code (to embrace the required data) necessary to create the table directly into Oracle."

Can you explain what you mean by this - do you want to read Jet from Oracle or do you expect to do an unload from Jet first and then load it into Oracle?

If you are unfamiliar with Access and just want to tranfer data then select the Query Tab and generate your SQL either using the QBE Grid or by typing in SQL. When you have tested the query you can select to export it to whatever format suits you best for the Oracle Load Utility. Then ftp it to your Oracle server.
