Hi there,

I am using Access 2000.

I have a VBA public Sub that calculates various things and sticks them into a public array - i was hoping to be able to graph this data using the chart object in Access (ie I don't want to output to excel etc). However I am not too handy with the access chart capabilities and would appreciate some help starting. I know that the chart wizard creates and uses a query as its row source but im not sure how to get this array as the row source.

is this poss?

Thanks

hi there--not know exactly what your data looks like, start out with this and see how you do:

thread703-570860 me know how it goes. if still problems, put a sample of what your data looks like here, include what you want your chart to look like when you are done.

Hi GingerR

Thanks for the tip, I'm ok with charts based on queries and tables etc

What happens is that my VBA proceedure opens up a param. query and loops through the recordset calculating for each date whether a client has eaten or not, storing +0.1 if they have eaten and -0.1 if not.

This running total is stored in an array and I want to plot this information on a summary form. I just don't know how to get the chart to read from the array (as opposed to a table or query)

I've decided to do it a different way (using a temporary table to store the info) anyway but would appreciate any help on this topic anyway as it might come up again.

Thanks

before i read your last sentence, i was going to say to put the vba results into a table.

other than that, i dont know what to do. sorry, probably the best thing to do is to re-post the question and I won't answer.

Hi there,

Yeah, i've stuck it into a temp table and it works fine - it just seems an inelegant way of doing it?

But i'm not that fussed about aesthetics, as long as it works.

Thanks for taking time to reply anyway.

Thanks
