Hi, all :)

I have a user that is getting an Out of Memory error when trying to open an Access 97 database. She also has Access 2002 on her machine. It appears that she has sufficient actual physical memory available (349564).

She went on vacation a couple of weeks ago and was having no problem with opening the database. I wonder if a recent Microsoft update is causing an issue????

OS XP, 512MB RAM, 2.8GHz Processor

Thanks for any ideas!

Have you done any mainteance on the database? ie compacting or decompiling? I find when this happens, it's stime to back it up, compact it and put it back out there.

Alternatiovely, a friend of mine suggests that you create a blank db and import everything from the old one to the new one. That strips a lot of "bloat" from the db

hope this helps

Thanks for the response, jedel :) Not sure, but I don't think it's the database, because other users are having no difficulty with opening it with the same desktop setup.
