We are currently running databases on Access 2k. We've got to install in a department this horrible database which will only run on Access 97/Access runtime. If I install Access 97 on the PC's in place of Access 2k I can't run the 2k databases, if I install the access runtime stuff that comes with the orrible database I can't run the 2k databases. Has anyone any suggestions ? We don't have access to the tables etc in the new database to export to 2k and from what I remember trying to convert it by opening it in Access 2k didn't work either.

Any suggestions much apreciated

Gareth

You can run multiple version of Access on the same PC!

You need to decide which version will be your primary work tool and thats the one that will be installed directly from the install disk to the dedicated folder... the other versions you want to install need to be installed into different folders.
Say you want to have ver 2K be the primary version you use but want ver97 on as well.
Install 97 in C:\Program Files\Access97
and this must be installed first.. then install ver 2k which will ask if you want to leave ver 97 on the PC - answer yes and let it install 2k in c:\......\microsoft office....

Thank you - I'm sure I've tried before and it's caused problems, but I will follow your instructions and hope for the best.
