Would anyone know if MS plans to incorporate .NET into the new Access 2007 development environment? Of will we have to continue with VBA?

The reason I am asking is that we have an MS access application that we
plan to convert to .NET. If access 2007 will be ".NETified" we might as well
wait and have a conversion wizard do forms and reports conversion for us.

Thaks In advance,
Chris

Don't use microsoft conversion wizards. It's asking for a world of hurt.

cglisc,

I've no idea if MS has any plans to include some flavour of .NET in any future releases of MS Access, but I can say with a fair degree of confidence that any wizard included to help with the conversion process is going to be problematic at best.

The latest versions of VBA and .NET languages are fundamentally different, so there will likely be plenty of issues to deal with once any conversion wizard has had its attempt.

If the systems *really* warrant converting to .NET then I'd carry on with doing it.

Ed Metcalfe.
