Access 2003 to SQL 2000 linked table problem

Has anyone else seen this? We are attempting to create a linked table in an Access 2003 (SP 2) database pointing to a table in a SQL 2000 (SP 4) database. The connection uses a System DSN which is correct and validated. The Link Table wizard completes succesfully and creates the link. However, when we open the table in Access every row of data is identical to the very first row.

The data in the table in SQL 2000 is correct and not duplicated. The user does have permissions to the table in the SQL database. I've also re-created the issue using a new Access 2003 database on a different PC connecting to the same table but using the sa account.

I searched both here and using Google and found some other people with a similar problem, but no solution. Linked tables pointing to some other tables in the same SQL database work fine. This particular table has not had the problem in the past. Any ideas?

Update. This may be a display problem, where the data in the underlying SQL table is correct but for some reason Access won't show it.

We imported the table (to a different table name) so that we could work with the data. We manipulated the data as needed, and then created an append query to upload the data back to the SQL database, using the linked table. When viewing the data in the append query in Datasheet view, the data appeared correct. There were no errors when running the query.

After running the query we opened the linked table in Access. Every row of data again appeared to be a duplicate of the first row. However, we then checked the data in the table on the SQL Server itself. The data was correct, and matched exactly to the append query. Very weird.
