Hi everyone,
I'm not an "Access" programmer but i need to create a data Access table using a SQL server query.
The data is stored in a Sql server, the query is:
Code:
select name from my table
but the query has to be within access table and the result should be stored inside an existing Access table.
Can anyone tell me The menus i should use to obtain the above ?
Thanks

queries" are not in Access "tables". Your question is very confusing. I don't know what exactly you are attempting to accomplish.

Do you want to append records from SQL Server to Access or connect to the SQL Server to display records from a table or what?

Hi Duane,
As i mentioned i'm Sql server personnel, not Access. I'l try to experss myself as simple as i can. I want to open an Access page, or sheet or whatever it is (sorry for my ignorance) and write there a query. That query will append rows from a Sql server table into that Access whatever i'm in (page, table etc..).
If this is non realistic, then i'd like to go into Sql server Analyzer and write a Sql query that will export rows into a particular Access table or page or whatever it is.
Sorry to make you cope with "low level" problems and thanks.

The general method is to create a link to your SQL Server table. You can then create a query (append or maketable) in Access that appends your SQL Server records to either an existing or new Access table.

You should also be able to use DTS or SSIS from SQL Server to do the same basic task. I would feel more comfortable doing this from the Access side.
