Access 2000 and XML

Does anyone know of a way of getting xml files into Access 2000 so I can run datachecks on the data in them? Currently we use txt files (which I check using VBA\Access) from various disparate data sources into our system but that is all changing to xml soon.

I know there is functionality in Access 2002 and 2003 to import direct but not so in Access 2000. I have found some software called xmlspy that looks like it could do the job.

Has anyone else had this problem?
