I know the that with "sendobject" action/method Access can sent out an email. But I do not believe that this email can have an attachment with it. Is there any way that I can use Access2000 to send out an email with an attachment?

Background info: I am working on a data-collection database and this database is supposed to generate an export database first, then email the export database.

Thanks in advance.

The email you refer to IS an attachment. Unfortunately Access does nt have an easy to send out external files as objects (that I know of, I should say). But you can accomplish this by using MAPI. Remember, Access VBA is Visual Basic with all (almost) the abilities including using external objects.

For now, I hope this gives you a direction to go in. I will dig into my toolbox & see if I can later find you examples.

Yes, 7ony. You are right.

Maybe I can use Access to manipulate MS Outlook to sent out an email with an attachment. I will try this out soon.

Thanks.

If your file is going to be large (>1M) you would probably want to include a ZIP routine. Network admins tend to get upset over large files sent out (kills bandwidth). I can't offer the code but there has been a submission in the forum concerning ZIP'ing files in CODE
