I know Cisco says to use ACS, but has anyone tried to use Microsoft's 2000 IAS server to authenticate character mode login into switches and routers?? I have it working with my PIX 515E for packet mode authentication, but having some trouble with using it to authenticate a user logging into the Switch.

Hi, we had a similar issue trying to use MS RADIUS with our Cisco WAP's.
Cant remeber the document location, but basically Cisco declared ne'er the twain shall meet.
That was a couple on months back, so unless it's changed, it'll cost you about 2k for the ACS software. You can download a 90 day free trial from CCO
