A question about VCM

If i make an call from one IP phone to another IP phone, Does it cost resouse of VCM?? I know it do at lease when hearing dial tone or ringback. but when the call is connected?

WQhen making calls IP phone to IP Phone the VCC is only requuired duing call setup.
it is not used while the call is in progress (unles the call is put on hold & transfered when a 2nd call setup is reqd.)

During conversation the VCC channel is free for use

However how many people just call IP Phones on the same system and knowone on the outside world!!

May be you IPGuru!


And you can make a call with two IP Phones on the same system with no VCM, they are not required only that you tick Direct Media Path

No jedi but if you only have 30 channels of PRI it means you only need 30 channels of vcc
you could still have 250 IP hardphones
