Two questions.

1. I'm getting a consistant drop on my hub (8 port) It happens 3 to 4 times a day, the solution I've been using is to recycle power. I checked the Forum here using a search and it doesn't seem like anyone has a solid solution for it. I've checked the heat and it's fine. I'm using a Cisco 675 as my gateway and I've updated the router with the "Set Web disable" in order to prevent worm attacks as directed by qwest. I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts other than replacing the hub?

2. I need to swap some files from a stand alone PC to a laptop. I was wondering how to do this? They are two big for floppys. Thanks

On Question # 2, The simpleist and quickest of solutions is to purchase Lab Link. ( do a search on It's great and you will probably use it alot more than you think.

In regards to issue #1. I had Two Cisco 675 Routers which were getting stuck in an infinte loop due to the lack of a software patch; That coupled with the introduction of the Code Red Worm exploited the vunerability. The immeditate fix is to get to the routers CBOS# prompt via hyperterminal and issue the following commands.

set web disable
set web port XXX
write
reboot

Where XXX is a number between 1025 and 9999.

Otherwise you'll have to keep recycling power everytime your Router gets hit. I maxed out at 9 times in one work day. Not fun.
