9940B errors

I have a 9940B that is getting solid 4997 errors when trying to load.Can someone tell me what this is.
Also intermittent 5545 errors on another,

sounds to me like you motor flex went bad. It is a known weak point. We can fix these. Check out: We can check it out for you.

Oh yea, the error states that an unexpected message was received while attempting to unload a cartridge. The other error, 5545, claims an illegal state transition on the head encoder.

Does the 5545 mean I have a bad head.

You could very well have a damaged head.l These are notorious for being damaged in shipping. Sometimes they can be repaired, but just pray that the wrap ring didn't take out the head. If that happened, you'll have to replace the drive, because replacement heads are not available.
