Anyone have this happen? We have a 9641 that came with our demo kit. I just got around to hooking everything up last night. everything was fine on all sets, but then when waking up this morning, the 9641G says "no ethernet"? I have it plugged into the WAN port on the control unit. It was working perfectly fine, I never changed anything, yet, now it is not linking, and the port has no link lights.

See what happens when you move the cable a bit on the back of the phone.
If that does not work then try to put it on a switch.
Change the cable.
If all fails then i think it is broken.

tlpeter... I also think the 9641 is broken. I am fairly certain, but, wanted to see if anyone else has ran into this problem. I had tried moving it to a switch, tried it in the LAN port, tried a different power supply and all the same. where it says no ethernet, it also says of course the press * to program, when hitting on that it wants a code entered. I didnt know if maybe there was something dealing with a code that could cause the issue or not.

amriddle these are the new demo kits just released. they come with a 9641, a 9408 and a 1416

What power supply did you use?

That is the right one.
You did not try the 1151c perhaps?

tlpeter.. no i didnt, it was hooked up with the SSPOE-1A when I went to bed, and it was working fine, I woke up this morning, and the phone was in it's current state of saying no ethernet.

if I may bump in here for a quick question...

is the 9641G the "best", most expensive phone supported on the IPO?

Then i think it is broken.
Send it back as a DOA.
This sometimes happen with new stuff :)

tlpeter.. I am going to call our distributor first thing this morning about the issue. since it was part of the kit, it isnt listed as a separate part on the invoice for submitting a RMA. Thanks for attempting to help though

rhawkins,

fyi, the same thing happened to me a couple of years ago and the easiest way to handle it is to have them ship you a new demo and take out the part you need and put back in your bad part, then call them and have them claim it as a "mis ship". This is what they recommended me to do, so I did it and it worked.

I have worked for a distri but we never asked for a separate invoice.
The serial number and if possible the original box where it came in.
For DOA the original box is needed.

Is it possible the "No Ethernet" problem in 9641G to caused by plugging in to 115C1/D1 power supply by mistake??

Could be.
I have tried it and the phone still works.
Are you sure all pins are straight?
Take a look in the connector of the phone.

I mean the port in the phone.
Those pins could be bend a bit.
