Has anybody out there been able to get the screen saver feature to work on a 9640? I've got an IPO 500 V2 running 6.0.8. Your supposed to be able to make changes to the 46xxsettings.txt file and force the phone to look at a different jpeg. I can't get the phone to recognize the screen saver timer or the new jpeg. Called tech support and they didn't even have a 9640 to work with yet, let alone have an answer. Tried everything I can think of but no success. Any ideas? Any help greatly appreciated!

9640 Screen Saver Won't Work!! 2

The screen saver works fine with this version, and with the 9630 and 20 as well.
The screensaver file MUST be on the SD card is my conclusion.
The only thing thats doesn't work is to put out the backlight.
I can still read a newspaper at night!
The 9650 shuts the light as aspected, strange behavior....

I have put the new jpeg on the SD chip but it didn't help. Have you gotten it to work on a 9640? Have you gotten the phone to recognize the screen saver timer? The default is 240 minutes. I've dropped it to 1, 2 & 3 minutes but it doesn't recognize it. I wish they would put out some decent documentation on this thing.

I have it working on a 9650 with the file loaded in manager. worked right away and was easy. getting the file to the right size took longer. can you cut and paste your 46xxsetting file here. just the part about the screen saver.

I have tried to do it on ours and had difficulty, i basically ammeded the 96xxiposs.jpg with the logo i wanted rebooted the phone and nothing happened so all the programming was the same.

It can be done on a ip500v1 too.
On the v1 you need to put it in the root of the CF card.
On a v2 you need to putt the jpg in the primary folder.
If you use a different screensaver with the same file name it will not work.
Change the file name and change it in the 46xxsettings.txt too.
Reboot the phone and look at it when it start donwloading files.
You will see that the jpg is being pulled.

Ok changed that but are you saying on a IP500v1 it can only be done with a CF card?
I have watched the TFTP log and it drags the new file but so far not screen saver with the logo
(i changed the timer to 1 from 240 for testing)

I dont use the CF card so it can be done without it. I use my PC with either manager or MV_IPTEL

That is why i asked you to change the name of the file 
Try it with a different name and change it in your 46xxsettings.txt too
It will not overwrite a file if it has the same filename!
