9608 VPN help please!

I'm trying to set up a 9608 in VPN mode for a customer.....

The phone is statically addressed on my home network....
I'm using my laptop as HTTP server, and my phone is picking up 96x1Hupgrade.txt, 46xxsettings.txt and 96xxvpn.txt.

What I can't see is where I put the IP address of the router I'm meant to establish the VPN with.....

The phone's just sat saying discover IPO address.

Am I missing something obvious???

Upgrade the phone to the latest release and you will have the vpn option.
No need for a (handmade) 96xxvpn.txt

HSM did actually point you in the direction of the documentation that would have answered your question.

if you check the product description you will see that the 9608 handset DOES NOT support VPN mode (I am surprised at you tlpeter ;-) )

IPGuru, 9.0 has new firmware and with that firmware it is supported again.
I have already tried it and it works fine.

this is interesting to know peter, the document i found on my Docs disk still stated the 96XX series Except for 9608 have VPN capability.
I guess not all of the documents have been correctly updated.

What gateway you used? Do you have a topology? I needed one example. Because I trying to do this on costume too, but I cannot understand correctly all process.
