Hello,

I was before on the 5.0(15) with 5621SW IP Phones.
I am now on the 6.1(22) with 9608 IP Phones.

Before on the 5.0(15)/5621SW setup I was able to program a button with the Action "Call Park" and Action Data for the Park number. It worked fine. If someone needed to park a call they would press the designated park button and eithe they could retreive the caller with the same Park button or someone else could retreive the caller.

Now with the 6.1(22)/9608 setup, I can not for the life of me setup a Park button that will allow for a user to park and unpark a call with the same button. I have tried various SC but am not able to get this to work.

Is this a know issue with this version of IP Office and phone. If someone has a solution I would greatly appreciated, as I am at my wits end :)

Thanks in advance.

Hi ega218

i have had this working on v6.0 right up v8.0

Action "Call Park"

Action Data "1" if you have two or more keys just change them to 2,3,4

This should work fine but the only thing you have to do is park the call with one key press but to retrieve call you have to press it twice (one press lets you see call detail before unparking the call)

Thank you eddiebullman,

But for some strange reason that will not work for any of our 9608 phones. I am able to put it into park, but I cannot retreive it from park after it has been placed there. Nothing happens when I press the button once or twice. However, the light is blinking green on the phone that placed the Parked Call and blinking red on the other phones.

Furstrationg :(

Phone Model: 9608D01A

Forgot to mention that setup is on an IP Office 500 not ip500v2. Not sure if this makes a difference.

Has anyone had this problem with other 96xx phones. I am really clueless and have tried everything.

Thanks.

when you press the call park button and it flashes does the display say CPkup.( call pick up).
You need to press this in order to get the call( works this way on 1416,1408 phones).

Try this:
Alternatively, on extensions that received notification of the parked call, use the Status menu (if applicable):
1. Press the Status soft key
2. A list of ‘parked’ calls is displayed. Using the navigation cross-key , highlight the call you wish to unpark and press the Connect button.
3. The call is retrieved.

Note: If your phone is equipped with a feature button that has been configured as a Call Park button the button can be pressed to access the list of parked calls.

Nothing shows up when I press the green flashing CPkup button. Even if I press it twice.

I tried updating the newest firmware for the 9608 phone, but still no luck. I don't understand it. Unless I have a bunch of damaged phones.

Thanks for your help though snowman50!

Since I am at a point of desperation ;)

I have found the least resistant workaround. Since the Park feature works, it's just that the same button does not work for UnParking the call.

So I created a short code that would will UnPark a call and wait for the Park number to be entered.

SC
*38*
UnPark
N

Then I added this to the button, so the user just has to press the UnPark button and enter the number of the Parked call which is already lit on their phone and the call is retrieved.

Its too bad I could not user the Park button on the phone.

Thanks erveryone for commented.

So this is what the 9600 manual says about park buttons and suggests it should work (although I haven't tried it).

Did any of you guys actually look at a user guide to see how it should be????

From the KB:

A button set to this action can be used to park and unpark calls. The button can be set with or without a park slot number.
• When associated with a specific park slot number, the button will park and unpark calls from that park slot. When a call has been parked, the button's red lamp is lit. Pressing the button again shows the parked call details and enables you to retrieve the call.
• When not associated with a specific park slot number, the button will park calls by assigning them a park slot number based on your extension number. More than one call can be parked. When a call has bee parked, the button's red lamp is lit. When you press the button, all the calls that are parked are displayed. Select the call that you want to retrieve and press the Connect soft button.
• If pressed while a call is connected, that call will be parked using a park slot number assigned by the system based on your extension number.
• If pressed with no call connected, your phone will display details of your parked calls.

If it doesn't work, it may be a bug.

Hello jamie77, I did read the manual. However, what I needed was only the first option of when a specific park slot number is assigned, such as Park 1, Park 2, etc.

This is the way tha that the users have been used to setting up park. When the phone is configured in the say, the phone allows for the call to be parked, but not unparked no matter how many times the button is pressed.

I have not tried the other option of not assigning a specific slot number. I will try it just to see how it works as a possible solution. However, it is custumary with this customer that when call is on park, that they page someone to say a call is on Park 1...not sure i they will be willing to say, the call is on 58653????

Thanks for your suggestion :)

And it should work that way. I would always put a slot number in.

I will try mine in the morning but we are now on 8.1 beta do not a direct test!!!

Sounds like a bug that needs to be raised through your BP to Avaya.

You might need to go to the latest R7 or R8 for 96x1 support. Avaya won't even take a bug raised on 6.1 anymore as it is out of support.

I cannot remember that this does not work on 6.1.
I have done enough site with the 9608 on 6.1 (yes they where not sold anymore but we still did)

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Works like a charm on my 8.1 9608.

I would suggest upgrading to the latest R8 and take it from there.
