I have a client that requested a 9608 Remote Extension phone at their house. I have tested the phone onsite, it works great. When I take it offsite, it will connected, but doesn't seem to get all the programming. Example - Softkeys are missing, on the main screen There are only 4 buttons available instead of the normal 8, When someone calls that extension, it will ring and I can answer, but no information is displayed on the screen. I can make and receive calls from the Remote Extension phone though. Any ideas?

Sounds like it is an issue with the router at the new location. Can you put the phone's IP in a DMZ on the router just for testing? If that works then you may need to do some port forwarding and disable SPI on the home router.

I had a similar issue on a 9650 and it was that the phone at home didn't have the latest firmware. I brought it in to the office and updated it and all the features started working.

Try this NoUser source number.
Just enter this and merge the config.
Cisco's seem to block port 1720 even when it is open.
This source number changes the port to 1800

REMOTE_H323=1800

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

That is done on port 1720 :)
But some Cisco's even then do not work and changing the port is the only solution.
