How do you program softkeys on the 9600 series phones?

Which keys do you mean ?
Button programming does do the keys but not all key are programmable.

My customer wants to have a hold, transfer button, Instead of using the call appearance button to hold and transfer calls. Can she program those buttons on her phone? Thank you.

Those buttons do appear on the fixed keys when they can be used.

You press Call Appearance and the screen should show- Hold- Tansfer- Conference, etc... She claims it doesn't show this. I believe that it did when I was out there. Firmware should not natter. It is R6

Under Mananger--System--Phone File Server---it was set to Custom; once it was changed to Manager, the phones worked. There are 96XX upgrade files under Manager that the phones must have needed for bin files.

If those phones are not upgraded then yes she was right
