Has anyone had any experience with sending tty output (911 call alert) to the switchboard console and having amcom software display this on the screen to the switchboard operators? If this can be done, of course I will plug away until I figure it out, but if it cannot, I would like to look for a solution which works. Right now I'm playing with sending the alert to my phone and that works but not a viable solution :)

Yep, right now it is going to my phone -

I just don't know how to do it on the console

I was just told by our vendor that I cannot put an OSN key on the attendant console, bummer, now I am at a loss as how to get that 911 alert to the amcom software which is what the switchboard operator uses in conjunction with the console....

is your conssole connected to the pc? they make an interface for that, secondary market.. that would allow software that scans for 911 alerts sent to the console.

Yes it is, however our vendor said I cannot put an OSN key on the console. Amcom sales said we could have a pop up alert and amcom tech support said it would be a separate application on a separate pc. I am new at this which makes me really sound stupid talking to them.

So I just talked to our pbx vendor again and they can run ty 911 alert to a pc or printer at the switchboard area through a serial data connection. I'm thinking the printer for a permanent hard copy - plus the switchboard operator would hear it when a 911 alert came in.

Would this be a good way to go?
